有頂天ホテル(Uchouten Hotel)
Loved this movie so much! It’s December 31st and follows the busy night of the hotel employees and the guests staying at a luxury hotel. Many problems occur and each character gets involved in some sort of minor mishap that leads to different things. It all leads up to the countdown party.
I was reminded of how “He’s Just Not that Into You” and “Valentine’s Day” had many top name actors and each character’s storyline somehow coincided with one another. This was definitely more comedic and the interactions were planned out better and they surprised you. I think if I watched this again it would still be funny, maybe even funnier because I might discover something I missed before!
Mitani Kouki, who wrote and directed this film, is a genius! He has another one called “The Magic Hour” and a new one coming out next month! I’m definitely a fan of his work now!
