I love KPOP and I’m crazy about it! It’s given me a new interest in Korean culture and language! I was a bit offended that the Korean columnist in this video said that Japanese entertainment is “grass baseball” level and Korean entertainment is “professional baseball”. Both industries are great in their own way and I regret the fact that he said that. True, JPOP doesn’t market themselves into the American music market, but as Matsuko Deluxe mentions, is that really the only way to be “successful”. She says “Being accepted in America and making it onto the Billboard chart, is that really EVERYTHING?” That’s very true. In response to the man that asked what the deal with Japan being so obsessed with Lady Gaga, I think Matsuko nailed it by saying that Japan is just a very accepting country of other cultures. Japan has been accepting of all kinds of foreign artists, and Kpop stars are no different.

Idk I just thought this video was just really interesting. Matsuko Deluxe is harsh and in your face, which often gets mistaken for bitchiness. But I think sometimes she says some really good stuff that are meaningful. Just goes to show that Matsuko is not just about rants and hate comments, but that she’s actually thinking of what she says. That’s why I can never hate Matsuko.

** Just a note: Matsuko Deluxe is actually a man… lol
