Spring Break is so close!
but yet it feels so far away! The only thing that is stopping me from being ecstatic about Spring Break is a dreaded English paper! I have to write an 8-10 page paper about Japanese Literature. Of course this isn’t the hardest paper I’ve had to write but it’s just so dreadful to write because 1) that class was extremely boring and 2) it’s like the LAST thing I have to do...

Oscars 2011 Nomination List →
It’s 1:30am and I’m about to go to sleep but I just wanted to put this out before I slept: I am super duper excited for the Oscars this year! Why? Two main reasons: 1) Anne Hathaway is co-hosting the show with James Franco, 2) Toy Story 3 will most likely win Best Animated Feature AND was nominated for Best Picture!!! Gah this is exciting! :D
[Hayao Miyazaki] is one of the most influential Asians of the last six decades.
– Time Magazine (via mazemmerson)
That is so amazing! Hayao Miyazaki seriously makes me proud to be Japanese! Miyazaki is Japan’s treasure and I’m glad that the country takes great pride in him and cherish his talents.

A visit from a friend....
My friend Laurie is visiting Tokyo this week with some of her friends from dance. We met up last night and hung out for most of the day today. It was a lot of fun! They went to Akihabara, then to the Pokemon Center, where I met them. From there we had lunch and headed over to Harajuku. We spent most of our time there visiting the Johnny’s store, KIDDY LAND, and the famous Takeshita Street....
Identity Crisis
I feel like I’m losing myself lately. I sometimes find myself asking myself “Who am I?” It’s as if I’m going back to middle school or high school when we all had that phase where we’re finding ourselves. When I graduated from high school, I had a good idea of who I was, where I came from and where I belonged, but lately I just find it so hard to find...

26 Letters A-Z
This is a project I thought of last year one night and I thankfully remembered it.
This project is “26 Letters from A-Z” which is a variation of a 30 day challenge. Using the 26 letters of the alphabet you write a letter to anyone or anything. For example, you can write to “Bob” on the “B” day or you can write to “Pencil” on “P” day....
Independence
Ever since I was little, my mom and dad have heavily stressed the concept of independence all throughout my childhood. When I was 4 or 5 I had a bag of candy that I wanted to eat. I couldn’t open it with my own hands so I asked my mom to open it for me and this is the reply that I got back: “If you want to eat the candy, you have to open the package yourself.”
At the time, I...

Everyone watches anime. Maybe as little kids everyone watches anime, the way American kids grow up watching SpongeBob. Usually, kids stop watching anime and start reading manga, which is socially accepted even among adults in Japan. Like some American comic books, Japanese manga can deal with serious...
